WEC results from Las Vegas

WEC had it's second show under Zuffa LLC management this past Saturday. Currently you cannot view WEC on PPV or on TV anywhere but these WEC cards are being filmed for viewing on the new upcoming Versus Network sometime this summer. I for one can't wait to see it.

Here are the results:

Brian Stann defeated Steve Cantwell at 41 seconds of the first round by TKO in a lightheavyweight fight (205 lbs)

Micah Miller won by triangle choke over Jesse Moreng in a featherweight fight (145 lbs) at 3:29 of the third round.

Alex Serdyukov beat Scott Norton at 57 seconds of the second round by submission with a guillotine choke in a welterweight fight (170 lbs)

Charlie Valencia defeated Antonio Banuelos by TKO at 3:12 of the first round in a bantamweight fight (135 lbs)

Cub Swanson won by submission with a guillotine choke at 3:17 of the first round over Tommy Lee in a featherweight fight (145 lbs)

Dave Terrel won his welterweight (170 lbs) fight over Tiki Ghosn by TKO at 1:46 of the second round. Referee Herb Dean called the stoppage with Tiki still on his feet after a barrage of punches from Terrel.

Highly touted welterweight (170 lbs) Brock Larson won his fight over Erik Apple at 3:43 of the first round with a submission by kimura. Apparently Brock looked very impressive.

Chase Beebe upset Eddie Wineland to become the new WEC Bantamweight Champion (135 lbs) by unanimous decision. After five rounds the judges scorecards were 48-47,48-46, and 48-46 in favor of Beebe. Beebe improves his MMA record to 10-1 overall and becomes the new champ!

WEC Featherweight Champion Urijah "California Kid" Faber continues to impress with a quick submission win over Dominick Cruz by guillotine choke at 1:38 of the first round. Post fight Faber called out japanese superstar "Kid" Yamamoto who is currently fighting for K-1 HEROS.

In what became somewhat of a grudge match Carlos Condit defeated John Alessio by submission at 4:59 of the second round. Condit forced Alessio to tap with just one second left in the second round with a rear naked choke. With this win Carlos Condit wins the vacant WEC Welterweight title.
