Undefeated David Heath has stepped up to fight Ryoto Machida at UFC 70 in place of Forrest Griffin who had to drop out due to a staph infection. Heath is 7-0 in his MMA career with two UFC wins. At UFC 62 in August 06 on the undercard of Liddell vs Sobral he beat Cory Wamsley by submission in round 2. He won a split decision over Victor Valimaki at UFC Fight Night 7 in December 06.
Machida is one of the best fighters that newer fans have never heard of. He won his UFC debut at UFC 67 on the undercard of Anderson Silva vs Travis Lutter. He was also the first man to hand former UFC middleweight champ Rich Franklin a loss, he's beaten TUF 1 runnerup Stephan Bonnar and he's also beaten former UFC welterweight champion and TUF 5 coach BJ Penn. Machida is 9-0 overall in MMA.
